"Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall."
F. Scott Fitzgerald
- I love this season, not only because I was born in October but because of pumpkins and all the activities around them, because of a cup of hot cocoa or apple cider, the taste of a latte, the coziness of warm boots, a soft sweater, and fluffy scarves.
- Long walks under warm enough sun, a camera in my hands, and the crunch of dried leaves beneath my feet.
- Our traditional season travels to visit a winery or two and admire the contrast of reds, yellows, and oranges against a blue sky.
- Chestnuts are showing up at the local markets.
- An enthusiastic family chats about what costumes are in for Halloween and who is wearing what.
- The joy on kids' faces when you drop candy into their trick-or-treat bags.
- A good book, the soothing sound of rain, pumpkin spice candles, and the aroma of something homemade - these are some of the things I am finding comfort in now, and I am looking forward to in the coming weeks.
Fall has always been my favorite season. It is when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.
Additionally, I have recently enjoyed reading these short stories and thought you might like them as well.
